There’s more to the bird and bubbles combination than just the novelty of high brow drinking with low brow dining–Sparkling wine’s acidity and effervescence are perfect for cutting through rich, fried dishes. The Avenue Club’s kitchen crew has a knack for whipping up some of the best scratch comfort food in the city. We brine our chicken for 48 hours in citrus and fresh herbs, hand dip every piece in buttermilk, flour, and a secret recipe spice mix, and fry it all to golden crispy perfection. Sunday night Buttermilk Fried Chicken is sold in the half or full chicken, and sparkling wines are available by the glass or bottle. Besides the bubbly, don’t forget to add tasty sides like dutchess potatoes, green beans, french fries, vinegar coleslaw, or bacon-braised kale to your order.
